Background Information
On September 24 and February 7, 2019 the commission gave direction for the City Attorney to craft an ordinance prohibiting the sale of tobacco, vaping and e-cigarettes to anyone younger than 21 in North Port, allowing an exemption for active military. Tobacco 21 reached out to me to offer a presentation on the various questions the commission had during our discussion on September 24 and to offer a suggestion about tobacco retail licensing in North Port.
