Recommended Action
Discussion and possible adoption of Resolution No. 2023-R-41.
Background Information
In an effort to provide the City Commission with options for consideration to address alternative housing for victims of Hurricane Ian, the City Manager facilitated the development of a resolution that, if adopted by the City Commission, would provide homeowners the ability to utilize a manufactured housing unit on a single-family lot if the home on the property is deemed substantially damaged. This Resolution would declare an emergency housing situation within the City of North Port and would temporarily waive certain provisions of the Unified Land Development Code.
Should the City Commission desire to allow limited, temporary use of manufactured housing units on single-family lots in response to Hurricane Ian, the attached Resolution of Emergency Housing Declaration is attached for consideration and possible action.
This Emergency Housing Declaration Resolution has been reviewed by the City Attorney’s Office and City staff.
