Discussion and possible action regarding Art Advisory Board Recmmendation of the "Future Fish" art sculpture by Donald Gialanella, Artist to be located on the property at the northwest intersection of Price Boulevard and Sumter Boulevard.

Background Information

During the City Commission Regular Meeting on March 2, 2021, there was a consensus by the Commission to direct the City's Art Advisory Board to provide options for a sturdy, low maintenance, and more visible art sculpture to replace the Roseate Spoonbill art sculpture that was previously located on the property at the northwest intersection of Price Boulevard and Sumter Boulevard. The original Call for Artists developed by the Art Advisory Board was posted on May 28, 2021. At the Art Advisory Board Meeting held on October 12, 2021, the Board members voted unanimously to recommend the Future Fish proposal by St. Petersburg Artist Donald Gialanella to the City Commission for consideration and approval.

Financial Impact

The following outlines the estimated costs associated with the Future Fish construction:

> Materials, labor and installation: $34,320

> Reinforced concrete pad (Staff recommendation to meet current Building Codes): $12,265

> Two-year maintenance expenses: $1,200

> Total Project Cost: $47,785

Funding in the amount of $107,820.41 is available in the Fiscal Year 2022 Budget, Revenue Account Number 001-0000-324-62-05. A year-end budget amendment will be processed if existing funding is insufficient to facilitate the associated expenditures.
