Approve Change Order No. 1 to Work Assignment No. 2021-09 - Neighborhood Expansion Blue Ridge-Salford North Phase 1 with Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc., for an additional amount of $18,150.00, for a total cost of $492,946.00.

Background Information

On May 17, 2021: Commission approved Work Assignment No. 2021-09 - Neighborhood Expansion Blue Ridge-Salford North Phase 1. However, the project schedule was delayed from initial execution while the City found and acquired the land where the station would be constructed, which had to be purchased before the station design could begin. On May 10, 2022, Commission approved Resolution No. 2022-R-26 to purchase the parcel where the vacuum station would be constructed. On December 19, 2022, Kimley-Horn submitted the request for Change Order No. 1 for additional architectural services needed to design the vacuum station building. This change order is necessary because it was determined that the pre-manufactured vacuum station building that was originally proposed would not be able to house the equipment necessary to serve the entire area, making traditional block construction the only option.
