Background Information

On March 14, 2018 the Sarasota County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) passed Resolution #2018-046, calling for a voter referendum relating to issuing bonds to extend Legacy Trail from downtown Sarasota, through Venice and to the City of North Port.   This is a countywide referendum and if it passes the benefits will be felt throughout the entire county and in North Port.

On June 26, North Port City Commission had a discussion on the language of the County’s Resolution #2018-046.   On August 28, the Sarasota BOCC passed Resolution #2018-155 addressing our concerns.
