No action is required at this time. The EAB may choose to draft a recommendation based on the attached proposal and the discussion that follows.
General Information
The purpose of the item is for the Environmental Advisory Board (EAB) to review and discuss proposed updates to the structure and use of the Environmental Protection Fund. The discussion would include potential revisions to how Environmental Protection Fund revenues are allocated, long‑term funding considerations for the Natural Resources Division, and proposed percentage distributions for tree planting, land acquisition, and reserve balances.
As part of this discussion, the Board will also consider the attached Budget Proposal, which outlines an approach for the use of the Environmental Protection Fund revenues, the long‑term funding model for the Natural Resources Division, and recommended tree planting guidelines.
