TITLE: Approve the Propio Language Services Agreement between Propio LS, LLC and the City of North Port for Interpretation and Translation Services at the Unit Prices.
Recommended Action
Approve the Propio Language Services Agreement between Propio LS, LLC and the City of North Port for interpretation and translation services at the unit prices.
Background Information
The Police Department has a need for translation, interpretation, and language services. Pricing for language services was recently obtained by Police Department staff and Propio was the selected vendor based on being the most cost effective and offering services like video, American Sign Language, and written document translation, which is not available through other vendors researched. The Police Department obtained pricing from Language Line, which is priced higher than Propio. A Florida Police Accreditation Coalition request was also submitted to see what other agencies were using, but no agencies responded to the information request.
Propio requires an executed Service Agreement to utilize their services. The agreement will become effective upon the date signed by both parties and will continue in effect for the initial term of three years. Upon the expiration of the initial three-year period, this Agreement will automatically renew unless either party provides written cancellation.
The attached agreement has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is correct as to form.

Financial Impact
Funding for language services is in the Police Department budget. Costs for this service will come from account 001-2100-521-31-05.
Procurement
Procurement is being made in accordance with the Administrative Procurement Thresholds set forth in the Purchasing Procedures Manual.
