Recommended Action
1. Review and approve or revise the Planning and Zoning Advisory Board Goals for 2025
2. Review and approve or revise the draft Annual Report and method of submittal to the City Commission
General Information
Per City Code Sec. 4-4.(c). - Reports. All boards must provide verbal or written reports to the city commission to include the previous calendar year's activities and their goals for the following calendar year in the first quarter of the calendar year each year. The city commission will review the annual reports, duties, responsibilities and goals of the boards, and, if necessary, meet with the boards to address issues.
Three options are available to accomplish the above requirement:
1. Request a joint meeting at a regular meeting and present a report at the joint meeting.
2. Submit a report at a special recognition meeting.
3. Submit the report to the City Manager, who will forward it with a cover memo to the City Commission.
The attached draft annual report includes the Planning and Zoning Advisory Board's goals and a summary of the quasi-judicial hearings the Board heard in 2025. This is an opportunity to review and revise those goals for 2026. In years past, the Planning and Zoning Advisory Board has opted for Option #3. This is also an opportunity for the Board to either continue with Option #3 or select other options to submit their annual report to City Commission.
