Background Information
Since 1985, America has celebrated July as Park and Recreation Month. A program of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), the goal is to raise awareness of the vital impact that parks and recreation has on communities across the U.S. The National Recreation and Park Association with the City of North Port proclaim the month of July as Parks and Recreation Month and call upon recreation supporters to join in recognizing the importance of our nation’s parks and recreational facilities in enriching life experiences within our community.
