Background Information

On March 21, 2019, the City executed an agreement with Axon Enterprises, Inc. for the procurement of Body Camera systems, accompanying software licenses, and data storage solutions for the Police Department's investigative personnel. The initial agreement comprised three (3) Basic Evidence.com software licenses and thirty (30) units of Evidence.com storage capacity. Subsequently, multiple amendments have been implemented to expand the inventory of body cameras, licenses, and storage allocation. The proposed amendment seeks to incorporate additional equipment for ten (10) personnel into the existing agreement framework.

The standardization of the Axon Body Camera System across the Police Department represents a strategically sound investment that optimizes operational efficiency and fiscal responsibility. By maintaining uniformity in equipment, software, and storage solutions, the Department eliminates compatibility issues that would inevitably arise from multiple vendor solutions.
