TITLE: Approve the Use of Facility Repair and Maintenance Contract EV2516 Elevator and Escalator Maintenance and Repair Services between Kansas City, Missouri and Kone, Inc. in an Amount Not to Exceed $400,000 Annually Through the Term of the Contract and Renewals.
Recommended Action
Option 1: Approve the use of Facility Repair and Maintenance Contract EV2516 Elevator and Escalator Repair Services between Kansas City, Missouri and Kone, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $400,000 annually through the term of the Contract and renewals.
City Commission Options
Option 1: Approve the use of Facility Repair and Maintenance Contract EV2516 Elevator and Escalator Repair Services between Kansas City, Missouri and Kone, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $400,000 annually through the term of the Contract and renewals.
* Pros: Allows the City to piggyback on an existing competitively procured Contract, which can save time and enables faster response for elevator repairs and maintenance needs without going through a full bidding process.
* Cons: The Contract terms, pricing and scope were originally negotiated for Kansas City, Missouri's needs and not the City's, which could potentially limit flexibility or result in higher costs or service terms that aren't the best fit for the City compared to issuing its own competitive solicitation.
