Background Information

Request for Bid (RFB) No. 2020-32 was opened on May 18, 2020. Seven (7) submittals were received from Arox Land Development, Corp.; Landmark Services of Southwest Florida, Inc., Thomas Marine Construction, Inc., Pavement Maintenance, LLC, Gator Grading and Paving, LLC, A2 Group, Inc., and Chris-Tel Company of Southwest Florida. This contract, for Blue Ridge Park, includes the addition of a paved parking lot with ADA compliant parking spaces and accessible sidewalk connectivity throughout the park.

To accommodate the sidewalk connections, a pine tree located near the playground was identified as needing to be removed. After discussing potential alternatives to removing the tree, staff have identified a modification to the sidewalk layout that can be accomplished through the early removal of an aging piece of playground equipment. Staff intends to address this modification through a change order.

The Contract has been reviewed by the City Attorney as to form and correctness.
