TITLE: Second reading of Ordinance 2020-01 amending the City Code Chapter 2, Article VIII, Section 2-419 on Disposition of City Assets and Property
Recommended Action
Approve Ordinance 2020-01.
Background Information
At the May 28, 2019 Commission meeting, staff was directed to amend the City Code, Procurement Section 2-419, in relationship to selling items to other governmental entities. The attached ordinance amends the City Code Chapter 2, Article VIII, Section 2-419 on Disposition of City Assets and Property.
The ordinance has been reviewed by legal for form and correctness.

Financial Impact
This ordinance as amended allows the disposition of city assets through direct sale to other governmental entities or nonprofit corporations without having to auction them first. Without this ordinance, the City would be required to sell items with a value estimated to be $5,000 or more to the highest bidder or through auction as established under the current ordinance.
