* Pros: Moves Vermont Systems RecTrac software to a cloud-hosted solution; automatic product upgrades from the vendor; daily backups; improved redundancy; cloud application, web servers, hardware and operating system maintenance monitored and managed by Vermont Systems; scheduled maintenance performed during off-peak hours eliminating impact to operations; aligns with the Continuity of Operations Plan by minimizing system disruption during emergency activations.
* Cons: Additional fee for service.

Option 2: Deny the Contract Addendum for Hosting Services with Vermont Systems (RecTrac).

* Pros: Cost of service does not increase.
* Cons: Management of servers and troubleshooting reliant on internal resources; upgrades and updates are not automatic; scalability remains limited; loss of operational time during emergency activations; reduced scheduling flexibility for software updates due required downtime.

Background Information

The Parks & Recreation Department currently utilizes Vermont Systems' RecTrac software to efficiently manage daily operations, including admission sales, pass sales and management, concession sales, park reservations and reporting. At present, this essential software is hosted locally on the City's network.
