TITLE:                     Ordinance No. 2019-12, second reading, amending the Code of the City of North Port, Florida, Sec. 2-55 - Agenda, relating to the agenda for City Commission meetings

Recommended Action

Approve Ordinance No. 2019-12

Background Information

At its January 3, 2019 special meeting, the City Commission approved a motion to require that if a consent agenda item is pulled, that it be pulled by noon the day prior to the meeting, and that the consent agenda be moved to the front of the agenda. This ordinance is presented to amend the City Code accordingly, and to remove redundancy in the relevant code section.

At its March 19, 2019 meeting, the City Commission considered Ordinance No. 2019-12 and continued it to second reading on April 9, 2019 with the following changes:

1.                     Subsection (c) - move the second public comment to occur prior to Commission communications; and

2.                     Subsection (g)(2) - modify the wording to clarify that the item is not being removed from the agenda, but is being opened up for discussion, questions, and registration of a vote.
