Recommended Action
Option 1: Approve the appointment of Marat Bagaev to serve as the City of North Port Representative on the Sarasota County Parks Advisory and Recreation Council (PARC).

Background Information
Sarasota County received an application from Marat Bagaev to serve as the City of North Port Representative on the Sarasota County Parks Advisory and Recreation Council (PARC) and provided the City with a courtesy notification on July 9, 2026. While Sarasota County's current appointment process does not require City Commission approval, the City has historically presented appointments to non-city boards to the City Commission for consideration prior to Sarasota County's appointment process.
To maintain the City's established practice for appointments to non-city boards, staff is presenting the appointment of Marat Bagaev to the City Commission for consideration. The application for Marat Bagaev has been submitted for review.
Marat Bagaev currently serves on the City of North Port Planning and Zoning Advisory Board with a term starting from October 22, 2024.
