Background Information

The following provides an overview of the history of this project:

* April 11, 2023: City Commission gave direction to create the project to prepare a master plan for Activity Center 3 (Gateway).
* July 25, 2023: City Commission approved an application to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity Community Planning Technical Assistance (CPTA) Grant for the partial funding of a master plan for Activity Center 3, the Gateway Activity Center, in the amount of $75,000.00, and authorized the City Manager or the Mayor, as applicable under the City Charter, to execute all funding documents after legal review, should the grant be awarded to the City.
* August 14, 2023: The Florida Department of Commerce announced that funding would be awarded to the City of North Port in the amount of $75,000 via their CPTA Grant to prepare the Activity Center 3 (Gateway) Master Plan.
* November 28, 2023: City Commission approved Work Assignment 2023-03PZ with Pritchett Steinbeck Group Inc. for the Activity Center 3 (Gateway) Master Plan in an amount not to exceed $200,000.
* January 18, 2024: The Mayor signed Agreement #PO498 with the Florida Department of Commerce for the Community Planning Technical Assistance Grant, including the following deliverables:
Gateway Activity Center Assessment Report: due January 31, 2024
Land Use Models; Recommended Stormwater Management Improvements: due May 1, 2024.
Gateway Activity Center Master Plan: due May 31, 2024
