TITLE: Approve and Authorize the City Manager to Execute the Letter of Intent to Purchase an Additional Two Million Gallons per Day of Water Supply from Peace River Manasota Regional Water Supply Authority

Recommended Action

Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the Letter of Intent to purchase an additional two million gallons per day (2 MGD) of water supply from Peace River Manasota Regional Water Supply Authority.

The details of the payment(s) by Wellen Park will be included in an amendment to the existing Wellen Park Utility Agreement. At this time, the details of the amendment have not yet been finalized.

PRMRWSA has requested that a Letter of Intent be submitted by the City of North Port prior to the PRMRWSA meeting on June 5, 2024. This letter of Intent will allow PRMRWSA to include the City's intent to purchase an additional 2 MGD in the public meeting discussions on water quantity commitments and associated costs.

It is anticipated that a formal amendment to the existing agreement with PRMRWSA and an update of the 20-year water demand projection will be completed by mid-Sep...
