Recommended Action

 

Approve Resolution No. 2024-R-67 as presented.

 

Background Information

 

The Department of Public Works seeks to purchase a 6.79-acre vacant residential lot, parcel identification number 1151218712, from property owner Troy Atwood for stormwater maintenance. The acquisition of this pond parcel on Devonia Circle secures permanent access for future maintenance and repairs to the City’s stormwater drainage system.

 

A purchase price of $50,000.00 has been negotiated with Mr. Atwood, the property was valued at $67,300.00 by way of an appraisal completed by Hettema Saba, LLC.

 

Resolution No. 2024-R-67 has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.

Funding in the amount of $50,000.00 is available in the Fiscal Year 2025 Road and Drainage District Budget, account number 107-5000-541.61-00, Capital Project R22RDD.

Purchase of property will be pursuant to Sec.2-403 (a)(3)c of the City of North Port Procurement Code - Real property, real estate brokering, or appraising.
