General Information
Section 163.3177(6)(c), Florida Statutes, requires local governments to adopt and update a 10-year Water Supply Facilities Plan into their Comprehensive Plan within 18 months after the Southwest Florida Water Management District adopts the Regional Water Supply Plan. In November 2020, the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) approved the Regional Water Supply Plan. On May 17, 2022, the City of North Port Utilities Department, in coordination with Black & Veatch, completed the Water Supply Facilities 10-Year Work Plan Update. On May 17, 2022, Black & Veatch submitted the plan to the SWFWMD, who acknowledged receipt on May 18, 2022.
The City of North Port Water Supply Facilities 10-year Work Plan Update is to the proposed Ordinance 2023-27 as Exhibit A. In review of the plan, the following should be noted:
1.This plan was completed prior to the amendment to the Conservation and Coastal Zone Management Element, which created a separate Conservation Element and Coastal Management Element.
2. Page 2-10, Table 3, Footnote 1, and top of Page 2-11. The Sable Trace referred to residential bulk customer, not the golf course. Central Parc will be a new customer when they connect.
