Recommended Action
Option 1: Approve Work Assignment No. 2026-01.01 with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. for engineering support services for Lift Station 61 upgrades in the Sycamore Street and Panacea Boulevard areas in the Amount of $347,370.

Option 1: Approve Work Assignment No. 2026-01.01 with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. for engineering support services for Lift Station 61 upgrades in the Sycamore Street and Panacea Boulevard areas in the Amount of $347,370.
Pros: Approval of this Work Assignment will address capacity limitations and support continued growth within the Sycamore Street and Panacea Boulevard areas.
Cons: Approval will commit Utility Department funds to this project, which could be used for other projects.
Option 2: Deny Work Assignment No. 2026-01.01 with Kimley-Horn and Associates Inc, for engineering support services for Lift Station 61 upgrades, in the Sycamore Street and Panacea Boulevard areas in the Amount of $347,370.
Pros: Denial of the Work Assignment will preserve Utility Department funds for allocation to other utility projects.
Cons: Denial of the Work Assignment would hinder the capacity flow for wastewater services within the targeted area.
Background Information
The March 2026 Wastewater Master Plan identified improvements to Lift Station 61 to address capacity limitations and accommodate continued growth. The project will rehabilitate the existing duplex lift station using a pump model selected by North Port Utilities Department, convert the electrical service to 460 volts, and install a new transformer.
