Discussion and Possible Direction Regarding Options for a Recognition Program to Honor Individuals through Banner Installations on Designated City Infrastructure.
Background Information
During the City Commission Regular Meeting held on September 26, 2023, the City Commission approved an amended motion to direct the City Manager to bring back information and logistics on implementing a banner system program honoring military veterans, active-duty military members, and other hometown heroes.
The attached presentation is a compilation of staff’s research and suggested options for Commission’s consideration in regard to a Recognition Banner Program.
Draft information on the potential Recognition Banner Program has also been shared with representatives from local Veteran’s organizations, Police Department and Fire Rescue Department staff for input and review.
