Recommended Action
Appoint Howard Bearse or Gerardo Rodriguez as the North Port Resident Trustee, appointed by the Commission to the Municipal Firefighters' Pension Trust Fund Board of Trustees, to serve a term from October 13, 2020 to October 13, 2022.
Background Information
Currently there is one vacancy on the Municipal Firefighters' Pension Trust Fund Board of Trustees for a Resident Trustee appointed by the Commission due to the removal of Gerardo Rodriguez for lack of attendance. The vacancy has been announced as required. The City Clerk has received two (2) applications from Howard Bearse and Gerardo Rodriguez, and there have been no other applications submitted. Mr. Bearse served on the Firefighters’ Pension Board of Trustees previously and his attendance was excellent. He has been a resident of North Port for over 12 months and does not presently serve on any other Boards or Committees. Mr. Rodriguez served on the Firefighters’ Pension Board of Trustees from November 13, 2012 to September 14, 2020 and his attendance was consistent until the last two years. He has been a resident of North Port for over 12 months and does not presently serve on any other Boards or Committees. The applications have been provided for review and consideration.
