This award item was requested by Jane Akins.
North Port University (NPU) includes free, eight session courses of interactive classes designed to provide insight into municipal government. We are proud to celebrate the graduates of North Port University, a free, eight session, interactive program that offers residents and local business owners a unique, behind the scenes look into how municipal government functions and shapes our community. Over the course of sessions covering City Government, Public Works, Fire Rescue, Police, Development Services, Support Services, Utilities, and Parks & Recreation, these committed participants immersed themselves in learning, civic engagement, and leadership-development, each attending at least six out of eight sessions to meet graduation requirements.
