TITLE: Discussion and Possible Action Regarding Impinging Growth and Section 42-22 of the City Code
Recommended Action
Discussion and possible action regarding impinging growth and Section 42-22 of the City Code.
Background Information
In May 2017, Ordinance No. 2017-09 was adopted. This Ordinance included changes to Section 42-22, Excessive and impinging growth; hazardous trees of the Code of the City of North Port, Florida.
As of now, it is taking approximately six (6) to eight (8) months to have the City or the City’s Contractor clear the impinging growth once a Work Order is put in que for abatement (which is after the code enforcement process). Now that data is available, a discussion is warranted on the affect this Code has on the City and taxpayer resources.
