Presentation of “National Night Out” Proclamation.
Background Information
The National Association of Town Watch (NATW) is sponsoring a unique, nationwide crime, drug and violence prevention program on October 1, 2019 called "National Night Out."
The "36th Annual National Night Out" provides a unique opportunity for the City of North Port to join forces with thousands of other communities across the country in promoting cooperative, police-community crime prevention efforts. The City of North Port plays a vital role in assisting the North Port Police Department keeping the citizens safe through joint crime, drug and violence prevention efforts. The City is supporting "National Night Out 2019" locally.
Police-community partnerships, neighborhood safety, awareness and cooperation are important themes of the National Night Out Program. The program will be held at the George Mullen Center and begins at 6:00 pm.
North Port Police Sergeant Scott Miranda will be accepting the proclamation.

Maintain the adopted level of health and public safety services.
Financial Impact
The proposed FY 2019-2020 budget requests the expenditure of $2,050 of forfeiture funds to host this event.
