The City of North Port Police Department was awarded $150,000 from the Department of Justice Gulf States Regional Law Enforcement Technology Assistance Initiative Grant to purchase two message board trailers and one speed trailer. Each of these three trailers have a 2-camera license plate reader system affixed which allows for data collection and immediate sharing abilities that will be instrumental for gathering data and intelligence for the City of North Port Police Department and other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
