Background Information
At the June 25, 2019 Commission Meeting, the Commission heard a presentation and discussed potential land preservation for scrub jay habitat. During discussion, there were some questions asked by Commissioners that the presenters were not equipped to answer fully.
After viewing the meeting, Mr. Thaxton reached out to the City Manager offering to present further information on North Port’s scrub jays, to provide more of the information to Commissioners. Vice-Mayor McDowell requested that Mr. Thaxton’s presentation be added to the September 5, 2019 agenda.
