TITLE: Approve the Twelfth Amendment to Construction Manager at Risk Contract No. 2023-17.004 for Construction Services Contract, Phase II With Jon F. Swift, Inc. in the Amount of $132,947, for Hurricane Ian Repairs at the Kayak Launch at Water Control Structure 101 - South.
Recommended Action
Approve the Twelfth Amendment to Construction Manager at Risk Contract No. 2023-17.004 for Construction Services Contract, Phase II with Jon F. Swift, Inc. in the amount of $132,947, for Hurricane Ian Repairs at the Kayak Launch at Water Control Structure 101 - South.
Background Information
As a result of impacts from Hurricane Ian, the kayak launches near Water Control Structure (WCS) 101 suffered extensive damage. As outlined in the Rostan Damage Assessment Report, damage was identified to the floating dock, floating launch, and gangway to the launch at WCS 101 - south.
In consultation with City Administration, the use of the Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) Continuing Services Contract has been identified as the most expedient path to complete this project. The following describes the CMaR process specific to this project:
> April 11, 2024: Work Assignment No. 2024-36FM was issued to Jon F. Swift, Inc. for Pre-Construction Phase (Phase 1) services. During this phase, the Contractor evaluated the work required, obtained quotes from applicable contractors, and developed the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP).
> December 2, 2024: Jon F. Swift, Inc. submitted a GMP proposal. This Amendment to Contract No. 2023-17.004 presented for approval is for the Construction Phase (Phase 2) of the process.
