TITLE: Approve the Fourteenth Amendment to Construction Manager at Risk Contract No. 2023-17.002 for Construction Services Contract, Phase II with Halfacre Construction Company in the Amount of $551,258.37 for Replacement of the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park (MCEP) Restroom.


Recommended Action

Approve the Fourteenth Amendment to Construction Manager at Risk Contract No. 2023-17.002 for Construction Services Contract, Phase II with Halfacre Construction Company in the amount of $551,258.37 for replacement of the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park (MCEP) restroom.

Background Information

The following provides a chronological order of events pertinent to the replacement of the Myakkahatchee restroom building and ADA ramp at the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park:

> Halfacre Construction, as part of Work Assignment (WA) 2023-01FM has completed the drawing review and bidding. Upon award of this Fourteenth Amendment, Halfacre Construction will mobilize to complete the restroom replacement. Contingent upon City Commission approval being granted on February 11, 2025, Halfacre anticipates completion of this restroom replacement within 120 days of receipt of the executed purchase order.

In consultation with City Administration, the use of the Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) Continuing Services Contract has been identified as the most expedient path to complete this project. The following describes the CMaR process specific to this project:

> December 19, 2023: WA 2023-01FM was issued to Halfacre Construction Company, through a direct select process, for pre-construction phase (Phase I) services. During this phase, the Contractor evaluated the drawings produced by Pennoni Associates, Inc.; obtained quotes from applicable contractors; and developed the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP).
