TITLE: Discussion and Possible Action Regarding Approving the Appointments of Deborah Pride and Debbie McDowell, as a Regular Member and an Alternate Member to Serve a First Term on the Auditor Selection Committee From October 6, 2026, Through October 6, 2029.
Recommended Action
Option 1: Approve the appointment of (insert applicant) to serve as a Regular Member and (insert applicant) to serve as an Alternate Member to serve a First term on the Auditor Selection Committee from October 6, 2026, through October 6, 2029.
City Commission Options

Background Information
Currently, there are three vacancies on the Auditor Selection Committee for one Regular Member and two Alternates. The vacancies were announced as required. The City Clerk received one application from Deborah Pride on August 26, 2026, and one application from Debbie McDowell on August 27, 2026, for appointment to the Board. Deborah Pride and Debbie McDowell have been residents of North Port for over 6 months. Deborah Pride and Debbie McDowell do not currently serve on any Boards. The applications for Deborah Pride and Debbie McDowell have been submitted for review and consideration.
There are no conflicts to note under Florida Statutes 112.3143.
