TITLE:                     Family Service Center Tenant Lease Agreement with School Board of Sarasota - Suncoast Technical College in the amount of $7,196.

 

 

Recommended Action

 

Approve the Tenant Lease Agreement with The School Board of Sarasota County, Suncoast Technical College (STC), for a term of one year, effective October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017, to provide 514 square feet of furnished office space (Suite B) in the Family Service Center at a cost of $14/sq. ft. for an annual lease of $7,196, or 12 monthly payments of $599.67.

 

Background Information

 

Suncoast Technical College provides Adult General Education programs to help students improve their skills in reading, math and language arts, and the GED (General Education Development) program provides an opportunity for adults to continue their education and earn a State of Florida high school diploma or prep for vocational schools.

 

The lease amount of $14/sq. ft. is unchanged from the current lease agreement. A provision has been incorporated in the terms of the lease to allow tenants to automatically renew after the initial term.  It also provides the commission with the ability to increase rents after proper notice. 

 

The 2016-2017 Tenant Lease Agreement has been reviewed and revised by the City Attorney’s Office.
