TITLE: Approve utilization of the Florida Sheriffs Association Contract # FSA19-VEL27.0 with Duval Ford, LLC to purchase one (1) new 2020 Ford Ranger for the Utilities Department Wastewater Division and two (2) new 2020 Ford F-150 pickup trucks for the Utilities Department Field Operations Division for an estimated total of $91,782.00.


Recommended Action

Approve utilization of the Florida Sheriffs Association Contract # FSA19-VEL27.0 with Duval Ford, LLC to purchase one (1) new 2020 Ford Ranger for the Utilities Department Wastewater Division and two (2) new 2020 Ford F-150 pickup trucks for the Utilities Department Field Operations Division for an estimated total of $91,782.00.

Background Information

The Utilities Department Wastewater Division seeks to purchase one (1) new 2020 Ford Ranger pickup truck for a new Wastewater Treatment Operator position located at the West Villages Wastewater plant.

The Utilities Department Field Operations Division seeks to purchase two (2) new 2020 Ford F-150 pickup trucks for two new Collection & Distribution Tech positions.

The Florida Sheriffs Association Contract is made available to local governments within the State of Florida for the acquisition of vehicles and equipment. Using this Cooperative Bid, local government agencies can obtain competitive pricing. Local government agencies have the flexibility to choose a product or service according to the business needs, such as price, warranty, supplier performance or brand name.

While City ordinance authorizes the City Manager to utilize piggyback agreements, the City Manager's policy requires all procurements exceeding $100,000 to be presented to Commission for consideration. All appropriate forms, procedures, and processes have been reviewed by Procurement.
