Background Information
The Code of the City of North Port, Florida, Section 2-55(d) provides the policies and procedures for conducting public comment in a public meeting. This section only describes public comment by in-person attendance.
On July 2, 2020, the City Commission directed that public comment methods be modified to include online submissions and voicemails.
This ordinance deletes Section 2-55(d) and provides that the parameters for public comment will be established by resolution. A resolution and Commission policy will be heard simultaneously with the second reading of the ordinance.
Background Information for Second Reading
On September 22, 2020, the City Commission conducted first reading and continued this ordinance to second reading on October 13, 2020. The following changes have been made to the ordinance for second reading:
• The update has been updated replace the word “remove” with “revise”; and
• The line numbers have been removed.
