TITLE: An Ordinance of the City of North Port, Florida, Amending the Code of the City of North Port, Florida, Appendix A - City Fee Structure, to change certain Fire Rescue, Parks and Recreation, Facility Rental, and Utility Fees; Providing for Findings; Providing for Conflicts; Providing for Severability; Providing for Codification; and Providing an Effective Date.


Recommended Action

First Reading:

Continue Ordinance No. 2022-17 to second reading on September 13, 2022.

Second Reading:

Adopt Ordinance No. 2022-17.


Background Information

In connection with the City's budget development process for Fiscal Year 2022-2023, staff has reviewed the fees charged for City-provided services. Proposed changes to various departmental fees are provided in the attached Ordinance - First Reading. Changes to the City-Wide Fee Ordinance Appendix A are identified using strike-through and underline for deleted, new, or modified fees.

Upon direction from the City Commission, revenue projections will be prepared, and proposed fees will be incorporated into the City-Wide Fee Ordinance. Said Ordinance will be brought before the Commission for the first reading on July 12, 2022, and adoption at the second reading on September 13, 2022.

Ordinance No. 2022-17 has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.

Changes on Second Reading:

1. WHEREAS, the Utility Department notified its customers of the proposed changes to the miscellaneous fees as required by Florida State Statute 180.136; and (Page 1 - 3rd WHEREAS)
