The mission of the Florida Master Naturalist Program is to promote awareness, understanding, and respect of Florida's natural world among Florida's citizens and visitors.
The Florida Master Naturalist Program is an adult education program at the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. This Extension Program was developed by the University of Florida and provided by many Extension offices and participating organizations throughout the state of Florida. Florida Master Naturalist training benefits parks professionals interested in learning more about Florida’s environment or wishing to increase their knowledge for use in education programs.
The Florida Master Naturalist Program offers 10 educational courses of varied lengths. To become a certified Florida Master Naturalist, you must complete the three 40-hr core courses including classroom education, in person field trips, assigned interpretation talks, final projects, and exams. Dillon is thrilled to continue utilizing this new knowledge to improve our environmental programming such as Go Green with Parks, BioBlitz, and North Port Nature Walks. Additionally, he is committed to enhancing the way we connect our residents to our natural areas.
