TITLE: Approval of Donation from the Allamanda Garden Club of Florida Native Grasses Around the Roseate Spoonbill Sculpture
Recommended Action
Approval of donation from the Allamanda Garden Club of Florida native grasses around the Roseate Spoonbill sculpture.
Background Information
The Allamanda Garden Club has offered to donate and plant Florida native grasses around the base of the Roseate Spoonbill sculpture. If the offer of donation is approved, the Allamanda Garden Club will plant two (2) Fakahatchee Grass (Tripsacum Dactyloids 4’-6’) behind the sculpture and two (2) Dwarf Tripsacum Floridanum (2’-3’) on either side of the sculpture. The Allamanda Garden Club will also provide mulch and will water and maintain the plants until they are established.
The Department of Public Works staff will arrange to secure utility locates for the area surrounding the sculpture. Subsequent to Commission approval, staff will be present to assist the Allamanda Garden Club with the planting of the Florida Native Grasses if necessary.
