Background Information
The Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division is seeking to purchase a 48-foot walking floor trailer to transport recycled materials and yard waste to the recycle center and landfill. The additional walking floor trailer will increase operational capacity and allow the Solid Waste Division to maintain uninterrupted operations while loaded trailers are being transported to and from the recycling disposal facility.
The City is experiencing continued growth, with more than 30 new Certificates of Occupancy per week, which contributes to increased demand for solid waste, recycling, and yard waste services. The proposed purchase will help ensure staff have the equipment capacity needed to meet this demand and maintain reliable service levels.
