Recommended Action
Approve State of Florida Department of Transportation Amendment No. 9 to the Traffic Signal Maintenance and Compensation Agreement for the Maintenance of Traffic Signals on U.S. 41.
Background Information
The State of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Amendment No. 9 to the Traffic Signal Maintenance and Compensation Agreement for the Maintenance of Traffic Signals on U.S. 41 provides an annual lump sum payment to the City of North Port to maintain the traffic signals on U.S. 41. Fiscal Year 2024-2025 continues to assign the responsibility for maintaining traffic signals at the same locations listed within the Agreement from Fiscal Year 2023-2024 as follows:
Ø U.S. 41 and Salford Boulevard
Ø U.S. 41 and Home Depot Entrance
Ø U.S. 41 and Sumter Boulevard
Ø U.S. 41 and Tuscola Boulevard
Ø U.S. 41 and North Port Boulevard
Ø U.S. 41 and South Pan American Boulevard
Ø U.S. 41 and Biscayne Drive
Ø U.S. 41 and West Villages Parkway
Ø U.S. 41 and Galleria Boulevard/Corradino Boulevard
Ø U.S. 41 at Preto Boulevard
The FDOT Agreement provides an annual lump sum payment to the City of North Port to maintain pedestrian flashing beacons on U.S. 41. Fiscal Year 2024-2025 assigns the responsibility for maintaining pedestrian flashing beacons at the new locations as follows:
Ø U.S. 41 East Bound and West of Mezzo Drive (Outside Crossing)
Ø U.S. 41 East Bound and West of Mezzo Drive (Inside Crossing)
Ø U.S.41 West Bound and West of Brimstone Hill Boulevard
Ø U.S. 41 and Mezzo Drive South Bound
Ø U.S. 41 and Mezzo Drive North Bound
Ø U.S. 41 East Bound and East of Mezzo Drive
Ø U.S. 41 West Bound and East of Brimstone Hill Boulevard
For the period of July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, the City will receive $74,666.00 for maintenance which is an increase of $7,429.00 from last year. The following provides a history of revenues and estimates of expenditures for maintenance and payment of electric bills:

Approve State of Florida Department of Transportation Amendment No. 9 to the Traffic Signal Maintenance and Compensation Agreement for the Maintenance of Traffic Signals on U.S. 41 has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.

Financial Impact
Revenue is contingent upon approval of the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Road and Drainage District budget, Road and Drainage District Revenue Account No. 107-0000-344.40-00 in the amount of $74,670.00 from the Traffic Signal Maintenance and Compensation Agreement, Exhibit A with FDOT.
Estimated expenditures in the amount of $31,420.00 for maintenance of the traffic signals included in the Traffic Signal Maintenance and Compensation Agreement, Exhibit A with FDOT for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 are contingent upon approval of the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Road and Drainage District budget, Account No. 107-5000-541.46-08, Repair and Maintenance R&M Traffic Signals and Account No. 107-5000-541.43-07, Utility Services/Traffic Lights Electric.
