Recommended Action

 

Approve the utilization of the Florida Sheriff’s Association & Florida Association of Counties Cooperative Bid No. FSA18-VEL 26.0 to purchase five (5) replacement Ford F-150 trucks, and one (1) replacement Ford F-250 truck from Coggin Ford for an estimated total of $174,208.00.

The Florida Sheriff’s Association & Florida Association of Counties Cooperative Bid No. FSA18-VEL 26.0 Spec #62 will be utilized to purchase one (1) replacement Ford F-250 for Parks and Recreation.  This truck will be utilized by staff to tow a 14,000 LB capacity trailer loaded with zero turn mowers, utility vehicles, a skid steer, pallets of sod, pallets of mulch or any combination of those items mentioned.  In addition, this truck could be utilized to tow the special event trailer or the royal restrooms.  CID #70514 will be disposed of through the City’s auction services.

 

Coggin Ford is an approved vendor under the Florida Sheriff’s Contract FSA18-VEL 26.0.  This contract is made available to local governments within the State of Florida for vehicle and equipment acquisition.  Using this cooperative bid, local government agencies can obtain competitive pricing.  Local government agencies have the flexibility to choose a product or service according to the business needs, such as price, warranty, supplier performance or brand name.

 

While City ordinance authorizes the City Manager to utilize piggyback agreements, the City Manager’s policy requires all procurements exceeding $100,000 to be presented to Commission for consideration.

Funding in the amount of $73,790.00 is included in the fiscal year 2019 budget account number 420-6063-536-64.00, Project U19RVH.

 

Funding in the amount of $54,440.00 is included in the fiscal year 2019 budget account number 321-2750-524-64.00, Project PS19RV.

 

Funding in the amount of $27,220.00 is included in the fiscal year 2019 budget account number 326-2700-524.64-00, Project BD19RV.

 

Funding in the amount of $34,380.00 is included in the fiscal year 2019 budget account number 321-3038-572.64-00, Project PG19RV.

 

Procurement

 

These vehicles will be procured pursuant to Sec. 2-403(a)(4)a of the City Procurement Code - the utilization of other governmental or public entity contracts to procure goods and services.
