Approve the Tenant Lease Agreement Between the City of North Port and North Port Meal’s on Wheels, Inc., for Suite B110 at the Family Service Center

 

Background Information

 

North Port Meal’s on Wheels, Inc., a Florida Not for Profit Organization, has requested to lease suite B110 at the Family Service Center.

 

This Agreement will be one (1) year (“Initial Term”) that, unless otherwise terminated, will automatically renew from year-to-year thereafter, for more than four (4) consecutive terms.  Rent will be calculated in the amount of nine dollars and fifty cents ($9.50) per square foot, for a total monthly rental amount of ninety-six dollars and fifty-eight cents ($96.58). 

 

Since the 1970’s, Meal’s on Wheels, Inc., volunteers have served meals to area Seniors and other residents of North Port, who can no longer provide for themselves. If a person has become disabled or otherwise impaired, North Port Meal’s on Wheels, Inc., has an expectation to help people remain independent and in their own homes, and that caregivers be supported in their roles through the program.

 

The Tenant Lease Agreement with North Port Meal’s on Wheels, Inc., for suite B110 at the Family Service Center has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.
