Recommended Action

 

Approve an Admission Rate Agreement between the City of North Port, Florida and North Port Hospitality, LLC.

 

Background Information

 

North Port Hospitality, LLC. (Hampton Inn) owns and operates the Hampton Inn and Suites, located at 5664 Tuscola Boulevard, North Port, Florida 34287. Hampton Inn requested the ability to purchase resident rate admission passes to offer in conjunction with overnight stay packages to guests at the North Port Hampton Inn. Appendix A, Section G of the Code of the City of North Port Fee Ordinance states “The City may negotiate additional discounted admission rates via contract with tourism-related entities.”

 

This Agreement provides Hampton Inn the ability to purchase up to two hundred (200) Adult passes and one hundred (100) Student passes for Warm Mineral Springs Park and two hundred (200) Adult passes and one hundred (200) Child passes for the North Port Aquatic Center annually, at the advertised resident rate approved at the time of the purchase.

 

As noted below the total potential benefit for providing these passes at the current approved resident rate would be $2,975. Hampton Inn is required to include the logo and website address on all promotional material that includes the promotion of Warm Mineral Springs and/or the Aquatic Center, or related Guest stay package and provide an annual report regarding use and promotion of the resident rate passes available through this Agreement.

If approved, the Agreement will go into effect upon execution by the City Commission and will renew automatically for an additional year on October 1, 2022, unless terminated in accordance with Section 2.B. of the Agreement.

 

The Admission Rate Agreement between the City of North Port, Florida and North Port Hospitality, LLC. has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.

Financial Impact

 

If all passes utilized within the Agreement are purchased, the City will receive $6,925 in revenue.
