Background Information
Utilities operates and maintains Lift Station 84 and the associated infrastructure and meter, which is accessed by a non-exclusive ingress and egress easement on the property currently owned by Manasota Beach Ranchlands, LLLP (Manasota). The non-exclusive easements were granted to the City by Sarasota County Public Hospital Board July 11, 2007, and July 19, 2007, and recorded in the Sarasota County Public Records as Instrument Nos. 2007158246 and 2007158251, respectively.
Manasota has requested the city to terminate and release these easements because the current lift station and associated infrastructure will be taken out of service, removed, and replaced with a new lift station along Everglow Drive, just west of West Villages Parkway. In order to operate and maintain the new lift station, Main Street Ranchlands, LLLP, has agreed to grant the city an exclusive permanent access and lift station replacement easement.
Resolution No. 2023-R-39 has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.
