Recommended Action

 

Approve the utilization of Sourcewell Public Utility Equipment with Related Accessories and Supplies Contract Number 012418-TPM to purchase two (2) replacement 4-inch Thompson Pumps for an estimated $73,546.00 and one (1) replacement 6-inch Thompson Pump for an estimated $38,573.00 from Thompson Pump Manufacturing Co., Inc. for an estimated total of $112,119.00.

The purchase of two (2) replacement 4-inch Thompson Pumps model number 4JSCM-DIST-4LE2T-M for the Utilities Department to be utilized by staff during Lift Station emergencies.  This pump is needed to keep wastewater from overflowing during peak times.  CIDs #6543 and 6544 will be disposed of through the City’s auction services.

The purchase of one (1) replacement 6-inch Thompson Pump model number 6JSCEE-DIST-4LE2T-M for the Utilities Department to be utilized by staff during Lift Station emergencies.  This pump is needed to keep wastewater from overflowing during peak times.  CID #3446 will be disposed of through the City’s auction services.

 

Thompson Pump and Manufacturing Co., Inc. is an approved vendor under the Sourcewell Public Utility Equipment with Related Accessories and Supplies Contract Number 012418-TPM. This contract is made available to local governments within the State of Florida for vehicle and equipment acquisition. Using this cooperative bid, local government agencies are able to obtain competitive pricing. Local government agencies have the flexibility to choose a product or service according to the business needs, such as price, warranty, supplier performance or brand name.

 

Capital equipment replacement is determined through a combination of mileage, age, hours and efficiency, as well as changing industry standards.
