Background Information

City staff is preparing a Florida Boating Improvement Program (FBIP) grant application to help pay for the installation of a prefabricated restroom at Marina Park, located at 7030 Chancellor Boulevard.  The FBIP grant program is financially supported by boater registration fees and can only be used for public boating facilities that provide motorboat access to open water.  The applications are lengthy, and a final grant application will not be complete in time for the March 24, 2020 agenda item deadline.  In order to apply, a Resolution is required by the grant program.  The City anticipates requesting $87,500 from the FBIP program. The City will provide a 50% match.

Applications are due April 7, 2020.  The applications will be ranked in June, and applicants are notified of selection in July 2020.

The resolution has been reviewed by the City Attorney’s office as to form and correctness.
