TITLE: Approve Utilization of the Florida Sheriffs Association Contracts FSA19-VEL27.0 and FSA19-VEH17.0 with Duval Ford, LLC to Purchase One (1) 2020 Ford F-250 Pickup Truck for the Field Operations Division of the Department of Utilities and One (1) 2020 Ford F-350 Pickup Truck for the Fleet Management Division of the Department of Public Works for an Estimated Total of $115,940.
Recommended Action
Approve utilization of the Florida Sheriffs Association Contracts FSA19-VEL27.0 and FSA19-VEH17.0 with Duval Ford, LLC to purchase one (1) 2020 Ford F-250 pickup truck for the Field Operations Division of the Department of Utilities and one (1) 2020 Ford F-350 pickup truck for the Fleet Management Division of the Department of Public Works for an estimated total amount of $115,940.
Background Information
The Field Operations Division of the Department of Utilities seeks to purchase one (1) 2020 Ford F-250 pickup truck. This vehicle will be used for towing the utility boat for sampling in the Myakkahatchee Creek, compliance sampling throughout the distribution system and to tow pumps and small equipment. CID 71222 will be turned in when the new vehicle is issued.
The Fleet Management Division of the Department of Public Works seeks to purchase one (1) 2020 Ford F-350 welder-fabrication truck for a new full-time Welder-Fabricator position. This vehicle will be used to support mobile welding and fabrication throughout the City. The welding machine will be procured separately and installed by Fleet Services due to a substantial cost savings. Purchase of the welding machine will not exceed $13,590.
The Florida Sheriffs Association Contract is made available to local governments within the State of Florida for the acquisition of vehicles and equipment. Using this Cooperative Bid, local government agencies can obtain competitive pricing. Local government agencies have the flexibility to choose a product or service according to the business needs, such as price, warranty, supplier performance or brand name.
While City Procurement Code authorizes the City Manager to utilize Piggyback Agreements, the City Manager’s Administrative Policy requires all procurements exceeding $100,000 to be presented to Commission for consideration. All appropriate forms, procedures, and processes have been reviewed by the Procurement Division of the Department of Finance.

These vehicles are being procured pursuant to Chapter 2 - Administration, Article VIII - Procurement, Section 2-403 - Exemptions, (a), (4), a, of the Code of the City of North Port, Florida, the utilization of other governmental or public entity contracts to procure goods and services.
