Background Information

 

The Solid Waste District is proposing to purchase land, Parcel Identification Number 1128227415, owned by David Scott and Marcella Scott, in the amount of $16,000.00. The acquisition of this parcel is for additional property for the future expansion of parking and storage for the new Solid Waste Transfer Station location.

 

Adrian Gonzalez & Associates, PA completed an appraisal on November 7, 2025, valuing the parcel at $15,000. A purchase price of $16,000 was negotiated with the owners.

 

Resolution No. 2026-R-34 has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.

 

Resolution No. 2026-R-34 was provided to the City Clerk’s Office on June 11, 2026, for signature subject to City Commission approval.

Financial Impact

 

Funding in the amount of $16,000.00 is allocated in the Fiscal Year 2026 Solid Waste District Budget, account number 156-3032-534.61-00, Capital Project SW22TS.

Purchase of property will be pursuant to Sec.2-403 (a)(3)c of the City of North Port Procurement Code - Real property, real estate brokering, or appraising.
