Recommended Action

 

Option 1:  Approve the Preventative Maintenance Agreement between the City of North Port, Florida, and FITREV, INC., for the maintenance of the Fire Department fitness equipment for North Port Fire Rescue Station 86, 19955 Preto Boulevard, Venice, Florida, 34293, in the amount of $290.00.

Option 1:  Approve the Preventative Maintenance Agreement between the City of North Port, Florida, and FITREV, INC., for the maintenance of the Fire Department fitness equipment for North Port Fire Rescue Station 86, 19955 Preto Boulevard, Venice, Florida, 34293, in the amount of $290.

 

                     Pros:

                     Pros:

o                     Avoids the upfront annual service costs.

o                     Allows flexibility to explore alternative vendors or in-house maintenance.

o                     Greater likelihood of unexpected equipment failure and repair expenses.

o                     Potential safety risks from unmaintained equipment.

o                     Increased downtime, reducing access to fitness equipment for personnel.

Background Information

 

Based in Tampa, FitRev, Inc. is a fitness equipment distributor that sells, repairs and services fitness equipment. Its Preventative Maintenance Agreements are designed to help preserve the equipment. The Police Department currently utilizes the same vendor for maintenance and repairs of their fitness equipment. The benefits of the program include:

 

Ø                     Protecting the investment;

Ø                     Prolonging the life of the equipment;

Ø                     Keeping it running safely; and

Ø                     Minimizing down time.

 

Under the Preventative Maintenance Agreement, the Fire Department’s fitness equipment at Station 86 will receive two (2) preventative maintenance services per year, which includes: mechanical inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and repair recommendations to reduce unexpected breakdowns. An interior cleaning of the mechanical compartment is included in the service along with an exterior wipe down. The fee is $145 per service for North Port Fire Rescue Station 86. FitRev, Inc. also provides repair services at a discounted rate when preventative maintenance is in place.

 

The Preventative Maintenance Agreement service period begins November 1, 2025, and continues for a term of one (1) year.

 

The Preventative Maintenance Agreement between the City of North Port, Florida, and FITREV, INC., for the maintenance of the Fire Department fitness equipment for North Port Fire Rescue Station 86, 19955 Preto Boulevard, Venice, Florida, 34293, has been reviewed by the Interim City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.

 

The Preventative Maintenance Agreement was provided to the City Clerk’s Office on October 6, 2025, for signature, subject to City Commission approval.

Financial Impact

 

Funding for the preventative maintenance services for North Port Fire Rescue Station 86 is available in the Fire Department budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 in accounts 001-2222-526.46-03 and 110-2222-522.46-03.

 

Procurement

 

Procurement of the preventative maintenance services is being made in accordance with Administrative Procurement Thresholds, section 4A, $4,999.99 or less, set forth in the Purchasing Procedures Manual.
