TITLE: Approve Contract No. 2025-10, Road Rehabilitation Project (Cranberry Boulevard) with Ajax Paving Industries of Florida, LLC in the Amount of $2,161,454.32, Plus Contingency in the Amount of $237,759.98 for a Total Amount of $2,399,214.30.

Approval of this contract enables critical road repairs to move forward without delay, addressing deteriorating conditions that pose ongoing safety and maintenance concerns.
• Cons: The contract, including contingency, represents a significant investment of Road and Drainage District funds which could be utilized for other infrastructure projects.
Option 2: Deny Contract No. 2025-10, Road Rehabilitation Project (Cranberry Boulevard) with Ajax Paving Industries of Florida, LLC.
• Pros: Denying the contract preserves Road and Drainage District funds, which could be utilized for other essential infrastructure projects.
• Cons: Denying the contract would result in a delay of critical road rehabilitation work, potentially increasing future repair costs and continued degradation of the driving surface which could create unsafe road conditions.
Background Information
Request for Bid (RFB) No. 2025-10 was opened on April 29, 2025. Three (3) bids were received from Ajax Paving Industries of Florida, LLC; Preferred Materials, Inc.; and Superior Asphalt, Inc. Ajax Paving Industries of Florida, LLC was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.

All locations listed will be milled and resurfaced with asphalt. Work also includes thermoplastic lane lines, pavement symbols, median island nose painting, curb and gutter repair, and isolated base repairs. The cost for the Road Rehabilitation Project is $2,161,454.32, with a contingency of $237,759.98 for a total amount of $2,399,214.30.
Work shall commence on or immediately after receipt of the performance and payment bond (P&P) and the pre-construction meeting, following the issuance of the Notice to Proceed for each project. All work shall be completed within the contractually specified calendar days.
Contract No. 2025-10 has been reviewed by the Interim City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.

Financial Impact
Funding in the amount of $596,321.18, is available in the Fiscal Year 2025 Road and Drainage District Budget, Project Number R24RRH, account number 107-5000-541.46-10. Funding from Project No. R24RRH will only be used on road segments that are from the original road bond.
Funding in the amount of $1,565,133.14, is available in the Fiscal Year 2025 Road and Drainage District Budget, Project Number R25RRH, account number 107-5000-541.46-10.
Contingency in the amount of $237,759.98, is available in the Fiscal Year 2025 Road and Drainage District Budget, Project Number R25RRH, account number 107-5000-541.46-10.
