Approve Purchase Order Supplemental Terms, Conditions, and Documents with FEMA Terms with B & E Signal and Lighting, Inc. for transportation system repairs at Salford and Price Boulevards Intersection under Purchase Order No. 51239 in an amount not to exceed $3,025.00.

Background Information

On October 5, 2024, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order Number 24-214, declaring a state of emergency for 35 counties, including Sarasota County due to Tropical Storm Milton, which became Hurricane Milton.  On October 6, 2024, Governor DeSantis issued Executive Order Number 24-215, amending Executive Order Number 24-214 and expanding the state of emergency to 16 additional counties.

Hurricane Milton damaged a signal head at Salford and Price Boulevards deeming the transportation system in emergency/exigency need for repairs. The City entered into Purchase Order No. 51239 and contract attachments with B & E Signal and Lighting, Inc. for transportation system repairs in the amount of $3,025.00.

The signal at the Salford and Price Boulevards intersection has been repaired and the Department of Public works is seeking Commission approval of the FEMA provisions to include in Purchase Order No. 51239 to ensure this work is FEMA reimbursable.
